After the long winter members of the Bayfield Agricultural Society met to continue with the planning of the 158th Bayfield Community Fair.\u00a0 The prize books were distributed and will be available in the usual locations shortly.<\/p>\n
The group reluctantly accepted the resignation of its secretary, Amy Campbell, who is moving to Mitchell.\u00a0 She willingly will continue in that capacity as long as she can until a replacement is available.\u00a0 If there is anyone willing to take on this role with the Ag Society, please contact Don Brodie at 519.263.2404.\u00a0 Amy offered to help anyone prepared to take on the role.<\/p>\n
A Battle of the Bands is being planned for local 16-21 year olds by Aaron Neeb and Ivan Raczycki.\u00a0 This should interest a wide range of ages.\u00a0 This will be held on the Saturday night of the fair as well as the Talent Show which will be in the auditorium.<\/p>\n
There was talk about the Outdoor Market consisting of the Produce and Flea Market vendors eager to get started again in Agricultural Park.\u00a0 It has been growing over the last couple of years under the direction of Jack Adkins.\u00a0 This is a major fundraising event for the Ag Society.\u00a0 Anyone wanting to be a vendor could contact Jack at 519.482.7921.\u00a0 It will open in May on Sundays from 7 am. To 2 pm.<\/p>\n
New entertainment is always brought to the fair.\u00a0 This year there is investigation about bringing in an ax throwing demonstration.\u00a0 This group is local and meets regularly to practice the art.\u00a0 Some farm related game, such as bale rolling, is are also being investigated.\u00a0 Volunteers are always welcome to look after these amusing activities.<\/p>\n
The Ribs & Music Fest is already well off the ground.\u00a0 Doubling the number of ribs for sale is the plan.\u00a0 The music lineup is being worked on also.\u00a0 Anyone wishing to help out with one of these events also would be welcome.\u00a0 Anyone interested could leave their name and interest by emailing info@bayfieldfallfair.ca.<\/p>\n
