Our annual fundraising Wreath Sale was held on Friday and Saturday of the Christmas in Bayfield weekend.
From the moment the sales team started to set up in front of St. Andrew’s United Church on Friday, November 17, eager purchasers were already arriving and selecting their wreaths.
By all accounts, this was a banner year for the Wreath Sale, with sales far exceeding the original goals. The Bayfield Agricultural Society is very grateful to the Bayfield community and visitors who stopped by to pick up wreaths, tails, greenery bundles, pine cones, bows and more for their holiday decor.
The success of this fundraising project wouldn’t have been possible without the wonderful people who answered the call for volunteers needed to help with the wreath-making process. Starting in mid-October, this dedicated group gathered grapevine for the wreath bases, cut the fresh greens, and fashioned the wreaths, tails, and bundles.
Co-chairs Phil Heath and Janet Vogelsang offer final words on this project: “Working with the community volunteers was a great experience, and we had more than a few laughs along the way. Selling the final product to the community for the good of the community made all of the effort worthwhile. We look forward to working on the Wreath Sale project again next year. Thank you Bayfield for your support!”
